High Country Hard Side FAQ
What trucks does the High Country Hard Side work with?
The High Country Hard Side is built for Ford F-450 and F-550 and RAM 4500 and 5500 platforms with a 60-inch cab-to-axle measurement. It mounts on an OEV Aluma Tray aluminum flatbed, which is required for the removable design. A single rear wheel conversion is available for trucks configured with dual rear wheels.
What does 'removable flatbed camper' mean?
The High Country Hard Side mounts on an aluminum flatbed, not directly in a truck bed. Built-in jacks let you lift the camper off the truck and set it on the ground, freeing up the truck for work, hauling, or any task that doesn't need a camper attached. When you're ready to head out again, you drive under it, lower it onto the truck, and go.
How is the High Country different from the Summit?
Both models are built for heavy-duty cab-chassis trucks in the F-450/F-550 and RAM 4500/5500 class. The difference is how they mount. The High Country flatbed models are removable. The camper lifts off when you need the truck for something else. The Summit is chassis-mounted and permanent. The Summit is also larger and heavier, designed for buyers who want maximum living space and don't need to remove the camper.
Does the High Country Hard Side have a bathroom?
Yes. A wet bath is standard on all High Country models. It includes a Thetford C223CS cassette toilet, a shower, and a sink. The toilet and shower share the same compact space, which keeps the footprint tight and keeps the rest of the interior open.
Can an F-450 handle a High Country flatbed camper?
Yes, the F-450 and F-550 are the primary platforms for the High Country Hard Side. Before installation, OEV requires a certified weight and balance study to confirm your specific truck configuration can carry the load safely. The 60-inch cab-to-axle measurement is required. Your OEV rep will walk through the truck requirements during your consultation.
