Flatbed
Campers
Every OEV flatbed camper mounts on an Aluma Tray aluminum flatbed and can be removed when the truck has other work to do. Built for trucks that earn their keep.
Mounts on a flatbed
Every camper in this lineup is designed specifically for an Aluma Tray aluminum flatbed. The flatbed provides a flat, level, purpose-built mounting surface.
Comes off when needed
All flatbed models are removable. When you need a work truck, lift the camper off and set it on a set of jacks. It goes back on just as easily.
Built for the weight
OEV works with a certified upfitter to ensure proper weight distribution and compliance. The Aluma Tray is matched to the camper and truck as a complete system.

Talk through it
with us
Matching a camper to a flatbed truck involves more than picking a model. Truck configuration, cab-to-axle measurements, and weight ratings all factor in. Book a consultation and we'll walk through the details with you.
All models need a certified weight study
Before installation, a certified upfitter must verify weight distribution and GVWR compliance for your specific truck and camper combination.
The flatbed is part of the system
OEV pairs each camper with an Aluma Tray flatbed. The tray is not interchangeable with other brands. It's engineered alongside the camper.
Removal is straightforward
Use the camper's built-in leveling jacks to lift it off the flatbed. The process takes about 15 minutes and requires no special equipment.
The Flatbed Truck
Camping System
If you love exploring the outdoors, you've probably looked at RVs at some point. They're capable, but they're also bulky, expensive to buy and operate, and not the easiest things to drive into the backcountry. A flatbed truck camping system solves most of those problems while adding one major advantage: the same truck that hauls your camper can haul a load the next morning.
Overland Explorer Vehicles builds flatbed truck campers that are matched to specific truck platforms and specific Aluma Tray flatbed sizes. Everything is engineered as a system, not bolted together from mismatched parts. The result is a camper that fits right, loads correctly, and performs the way it should in the field.
Our Flatbed Truck Campers
Overland Explorer Vehicles offers a range of flatbed truck campers built with functionality and comfort in mind. Whether you're running a 3/4-ton with a 6.75' tray or an F-450 with an 8' flatbed, there's a model matched to your setup. Options range from pop-up designs with two floor plans to fully enclosed hard-side builds, across both HD pickup and cab-chassis platforms.
Every OEV flatbed truck camper comes with R8 composite wall construction, Truma heating and hot water, and solar. What changes between models is the footprint, the roof style, the electrical system capacity, and the truck it's built for. The right fit depends on your truck, your trips, and how you use the rig when you're not camping.

Flatbed Camper FAQ
What is a flatbed truck camper?
A flatbed truck camper mounts on an aluminum flatbed that replaces your factory pickup bed. The flatbed provides a flat, engineered mounting surface for the camper. OEV uses the Aluma Tray, an all-aluminum flatbed built and certified specifically for this purpose. Unlike slide-in campers that sit in a factory bed, flatbed campers can be significantly larger because they're not constrained by bed dimensions. They're built for trucks that need to do serious work, and they can be removed when the truck is needed for other hauling.
What trucks can use a flatbed camper?
It depends on the camper. Hudson Bay models are built for 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickup trucks, including the Ford F-250, F-350, Ram 2500, and Ram 3500, with a 6.75' or 8' Aluma Tray flatbed. High Country models are built for HD cab-chassis platforms, specifically the Ford F-450/F-550 and RAM 4500/5500, with a 60" cab-to-axle measurement. All flatbed builds require a certified upfitter weight and balance study before installation.
Can you remove a flatbed camper from the truck?
Yes. All OEV flatbed campers are removable. The camper has built-in leveling jacks. You crank them down until they contact the ground, disconnect the tie-downs, and drive the truck out from under the camper. The whole process takes about 15 minutes and requires no special equipment. When you're ready to camp again, back the truck in and reverse the process. This is one of the main reasons people choose a flatbed system: the truck stays useful as a work truck when the camper is off.
What is the difference between a pop-up and a hard-side flatbed camper?
The main trade-off is weight versus living space and durability. Pop-up models have a canvas or composite-panel roof that folds down for transport and cranks up at camp. They're lighter, which matters for payload ratings. Hard-side models have a fixed aluminum roof and walls, which adds weight but gives you full standing height all the time, better insulation in cold weather, and a more weather-tight shell. OEV offers both in the Hudson Bay and High Country lineups so you can match the roof style to how and where you camp.
Do flatbed campers need a flatbed installed first?
Yes. The Aluma Tray flatbed is a required part of the system, not optional. Your factory truck bed is removed and replaced with the Aluma Tray before the camper is installed. OEV works with a certified upfitter who handles the flatbed installation, the weight and balance certification, and the camper mounting. You can't mount an OEV flatbed camper on a factory bed or a third-party flatbed. The tray is engineered specifically to pair with these campers.
